WOS Coaching & Club Positions

London Skating Club Synchronicity currently seeking coaches for the following positions:

  1. Coaching position within our adult program
  2. Coaching position to assist in the growth and development of our competitive synchronized program

The successful candidate must demonstrate their ability to develop technically strong, fun and creative programs. They will be able to motivate and inspire skaters to achieve within the synchronized skating discipline through their enthusiasm and energy for the sport. Synchronicity is a team coaching environment, thus the successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively with the other coaches on staff, supporting the overall development of the program.

Flamboro Skating Club looking for an Administrator (20-25 hrs monthly - $12/hr). We are looking for an individual that has good communication skills, pays attention to detail, good computer skills and has basic accounting knowledge. This one year contract is from May to May. The FSC Club Administrator works closely with the Board of Directors, taking care of correspondence with members, setting up program fees and program registration and works closely with Skate Canada and Uplifter, our registration progra, in addition to assisting the CanSkate Director from October to May as needed.

Kitchener-Waterloo Skating Club
... is currently looking for an enthusiastic, team player to join their coaching team. We are one of the largest skating Clubs in Canada that focuses on a community feel for our members and a positive training environment for all skaters wishing to better their skills or learn to skate. We offer programs for Recreational Skating, Power Skating, Synchronized Skating, Competitive Skating and STARSkate. The interested Candidate should be a registered Provincial Skate Canada Coach. Must be able to teach strong fundamentals to beginning and developing skaters as well as learn to skate to our CanSkaters. The Candidate should be familiar with the new STAR 1-5 test program, or willing to learn and implement in their teaching with our club programs. Successful coach applicants will be required to teach in the STARSkate program and be available to teach on weekends, including Sunday.  Successful coach applicants may also teach in all areas of KWSC programming based on their qualifications.
KWSC is one of the largest skating clubs in Canada. The club, which has existed for over 75 years is based in the twin cities of Kitchener and Waterloo, 100 km west of Toronto. The club operates recreational learn-to-skate and competitive programs that have qualified singles skaters, ice dance pairs, FreeSkate pairs, and synchronized skating teams to compete in the Canadian championships, as well as international competitions.

Wingham Skating Club
... is currently seeking a full time coach for our CanSkate, STARSkate and Can PowerSkate programs for the 2016-17 season. We require a minimum Level 1 certification and a keen commitment to figure skating. We skate Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:45-7:45pm.

West Elgin Skating Club
... (West Lorne, ON) is currently accepting applications for a qualified coach for our CanSkate and STARskate programs for the 2016/2017 season. The position includes group instruction for both programs plus the opportunity for private lessons as well. Availability includes Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings from mid September to early March.

Rockton Winter Club
... Winter Club is currently accepting applications for qualified coaches with experience for our CanSkate and STARSkate programs for the 2016-2017 skating season. We are looking for a minimum NCCP Level 1 Certification, with commitment to achieve Level 2 or higher. The successful candidate would also have their CanPowerSkate certification (or willingness to obtain). Applicants must have up-to-date First Aid Certification and be a registered Skate Canada Coaching member in good standing. Our season operates from October until the end of March with programs running Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturdays late morning to early afternoon. Experience in the administration of the new CanSkate program would be an asset. Immediate opportunities exist for coaching CanSkate, CanPowerSkate and STARSkate programs. It is also Carnival year as we are in every other year rotation.

Woolwich Skating Club
... (Elmira, ON) is looking for an enthusiastic coach for the CanSkate and STARSkate programs. The coach must be Primary STARSkate trained status or a Primary STARSkate Certified Coach. Position includes group CanSkate instruction as well as group STARSkate lessons with opportunities for private lessons. Special Olympics coach certification and/or experience with Special Olympics is an asset. Sessions are Tuesdays and Fridays between 5-7pm from late September to early March.

Bluewater-Zurich Skating Club
... is seeking a reliable and organized certified coach for the October 2016-March 2017 skating year for Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings to assist our head coach. We are happy to accommodate videos for coaching certification. The coach selected would be working with CanSkate level to STARSkate tests as they are qualified to do so. Come work with us in Zurich, ON in our beautiful NHL sized arena!

Flamboro Skating Club
... is currently accepting applications for qualified coaches to join our coaching team for our CanSkate and STARSkate programs for the 2016-2017 skating season. We are looking for a minimum NCCP Level 1 Certification. Must be a team player with a positive attitude and passion for skating & teaching. The FSC season programs run Sept to mid-May. We offer CanSkate three times a week in addition to Group STAR, PrePower and StarSkate. Our sessions are offered Mon, Wed, Thurs evenings and Saturday mornings. The Flamboro Skating Club is conveniently located just minutes from the 403 on Hwy 6 ( between Burlington & Hamilton)

The Flamboro Skating Club is also seeking a male dance coach/partner to join our team.
